- Obtain support and buy-in from top management
- Carry out a gap analysis of your existing system against the requirements of ISO 9001
- Define and set up a project team to develop the new methods/techniques/documentation
- Define with top management the internal/external considerations, Interested Parties and the Context of the Organisation
- Define with top management the Needs and Expectations of the interested Parties and the Risks/Opportunities to the organisation
- Define the Scope of the system, define the quality policy, define useful and measurable quality objectives, define the system processes and their interaction
- Assist the project team to document the operating and support processes
- Involve all personnel, communicate the system
- Have the documented system assessed by an accredited certification body at a Stage One assessment
- Carry out internal audits of the full system, hold management review meetings
- The accredited Certification body to carry out the on-site Stage Two assessment of the system.
- After successful assessment devise an ongoing internal audit plan to audit the full system
